A Deep
Dive

What Sets Us Apart

In Luke 8, Jesus spoke about the parable of the sower (farmer or gardener) who sowed seeds with different outcomes. Some seeds were plucked from the ground, some landed on hard rock and couldn't get water and some landed on thorns and couldn't grow.

But in Luke 8:8, it says: "And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

The Greek definition of "ground" here is gē

(Pronunciation: ghay) and is translated in biblical usage as:

  1. arable land

  2. the ground, the earth as a standing place

  3. the main land as opposed to the sea or water

  4. the earth as a whole

  5. the earth as opposed to the heavens

  6. the inhabited earth, the abode of men and animals

  7. a country, land enclosed within fixed boundaries, a tract of land, territory, region

Strong's Definitions: γῆ gē, ghay; contracted from a primary word; soil; by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe (including the occupants in each application):—country, earth(-ly), ground, land, world.

Our children are literally arable land, fresh & fit for planting.

Our Promise:

So yes, God.

We will season.

Sprinkle sacrifice.

And Fertilize your children capable of bearing good fruit. And work to protect their hearts from being spoiled, preserving them for You. We trust that Your people will hear, feel, and see You and only You, through us.

And we accept the challenge.

Soil & Salt is a design house & creative that gives ear to the language of the Kingdom of Heaven. We exist as an altar to the Lord, built upon the promise in Exodus 20:24 which says:

"In all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee."

The Hebrew definition of "I record" here is zāḵar (Pronunciation: zaw-kar') and is translated in biblical usage as:

  1. To remember, recall, call to mind

  • to remember, recall

  • to be brought to remembrance, be remembered, be thought of, be brought to mind

  • to cause to remember, remind

  • to cause to be remembered, keep in remembrance

  • to mention

  • to record

  • to make a memorial, make remembrance

Strong's Definitions: זָכַר zâkar, zaw-kar'; a primitive root; also as denominative from H2145 properly, to mark (so as to be recognized), i.e. to remember; by implication, to mention; to be male:—× burn (incense), × earnestly, be male, (make) mention (of), be mindful, recount, record(-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, × still, think on, × well.

Every piece at Soil & Salt is created as a proclamation to remember, recall and bring to mind how beautiful and intricately woven God's Word is in our kids' everyday lives, spaces, and tasks. By nature of who God is (He doesn't lie) we believe that wherever we record His name (through our products) that He will be there.

In Matthew 5:13, Jesus told his disciples:

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men."

The Greek definition of "Salt" here is halas

(Pronunciation: hal'-as) and is translated in biblical usage as:

  1. salt with which food is seasoned and sacrifices are sprinkled

  2. those kinds of saline matter used to fertilise arable land (any land capable of being ploughed and used to grow crops)

  3. salt is a symbol of lasting concord (unison/agreement) because it protects food from putrefaction and preserves it unchanged. Accordingly, in the solemn ratification of compacts, this is a practice that continues to this day in some cultures, partaking of salt together.

  4. wisdom and grace exhibited in speech

Strong's Definitions: †ἅλας hálas, hal'-as; from G251; salt; figuratively, prudence:—salt.

We exist to be a living sacrifice of God's wisdom & grace using written words

(which can be read and turned into speech)

to sprinkle, fertilize, protect and preserve your children's hearts for the Lord.

We believe that this is going to bear MIRACULOUS good fruit & can't wait to hear your stories!
